Fred Leise,
owner and principle of ContextualAnalysis, LLC, offers taxonomy design consulting services and has worked for such
clients as Scripps Newspapers, Harpo, Inc. (Oprah.com), Abbott Laboratories, Accenture, Dow Corning, UN ReliefWeb, HP,
and Columbia College Chicago.
As a taxonomist and information
architect at Argus Associates, Inc., he worked on projects for LookSmart,
Morningstar.com and L.L. Bean, among others.
He also led teams codifying Argus's classification scheme and comparative
analysis methodologies, and worked with the Vice President of Operations
in restructuring the company's information architecture training
process.
At Argus, Fred
built upon his experience as an indexer for scholarly and trade
books and journals for such publishers as the University
of Chicago Press, Oxford University Press and Columbia University
Press.
In addition to his taxonomy consulting, he also continues to index
scholarly, trade and textbooks in international relations, the humanities and
sciences.
Fred received
his bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Maryland
and earned a certificate in the Publishing Program of the
University of Chicago in 1994.
